970×90 ENG 1UEW 2018

From November 19 to 21, 2018, the key event of the year in the Ukrainian energy sector, the Ukrainian Energy Week ’18, will take place in the NSC “Olimpiyskiy”. Here will meet the most influential representatives of national and foreign companies, which will turn the location into a central place for B2B and B2C communications of the energy sector.  Organizer – A7 CONFERENCES. Investment partner – A7 CAPITAL. Official carrier – Turkish Airlines. Legal partner – international law firm Dentons. Exclusive financial partner – UKRGAZBANK. Partners: GOLAW, Poltava Petroleum Company, IKNET, HUAWEI, Photomate s.r.o., INGO Ukraine Insurance Company, Solar Systems LLC, Turboden S.p.A. Exhibition partner – EnergoSystems. Supported by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, Bioenergy Association of Ukraine. Business Travel Partner – Airlife.

The event will bring together four important Ukrainian forums that have been gathering key energy players for over three years:

IIІ “Ukrainian Oil and Gas Investment Forum ’18” | November 19

ІІІ “Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum ’18” | November 20

ІІ Ukrainian Energy Efficiency Forum ’18 | November 21

– І “Ukrainian Housing Cooperative Forum ’18 | November 21

 970x90 ENG 1UEW 2018

The forums have become a regular meeting place for representatives of the energy sector, Ukrainian and foreign developers, investors, government officials and representatives of financial institutions. Their goal is to establish business contacts and create the basis for making important decisions, finding investment opportunities, discussing the development and ways of reforming key energy sectors.

The first of Ukrainian Energy Week will be the Ukrainian Investment Forum “Oil and Gas”. For the third time, the forum will bring together leading Ukrainian and international companies to discuss the prospects of the sector. The forum’s key industry experts will cover the following topics: global trends in the oil and gas sector, the oil and gas market in Ukraine, and sector financing.

It is projected that since Ukraine produces less than 2% of gas each year, its own reserves should be 54 years old. In Europe, the average is 12 years, so Ukraine ranks first in Europe to provide the country with its own gas deposits. This confirms the relevance of the forum and the understanding of its own capacity, because Ukraine is able to extract gas more intensively due to the attraction in the investment industry and modern technologies. This will be discussed at the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Investment Forum, November 19.

The second forum on the Ukrainian Energy Week will be the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum. The forum will be held for the third time and became widely publicized among Ukrainian and international companies due to the relevance of the topic of alternative energy. Wind energy, solar and bioenergy, as well as investment opportunities of renewable energy in Ukraine are topics on which the forum will focus.

Recently, the issue of renewable energy has become more relevant. During June 2018, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered 8 bills on changes in the system of further stimulation of the development of „green energy” through a system of auctions. It is November 20, within the framework of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum, a separate panel will be held on the development of the Ukrainian wind energy sector, which will consider the modern conditions of the construction of wind power in Ukraine and the experience of foreign companies in the Ukrainian wind energy market. In the course of the discussion, issues of responsibility for the imbalances for electric power producers at the WEU and SES within the framework of the Law of Ukraine „On the Electricity Market” will be discussed, which will take effect from July 1, 2019. Shifts are also taking place in the biofuel market, where, as the world practice shows, a single electronic trading platform is an effective mechanism. Work on the implementation of such a platform is underway.

The final energy week forum will be the 2nd Ukrainian Energy Efficiency Forum. As part of this year the Ukrainian housing cooperative forum will be held. The Energy Efficiency Forum will raise the current issues for the second time: Ukraine’s energy efficiency strategy, energy efficiency reforms, investments in the energy efficiency market, as well as cooperation with other energy sectors.

The State Department for Energy Efficiency stresses that the introduction of “green” bonds in Ukraine will allow mobilizing the necessary investments for implementation of projects in the field of energy efficiency, as well as cheapen these financial resources. By 2020, the national targets set 11% of the net energy in the final energy consumption and 75% of the green energy in the total primary energy supply by 2035.

Issues in the oil and gas sector, renewable energy and energy efficiency will be considered during November 19-21 at the Olympic NSC. In addition to the main program during the event, a large-scale exhibition and thematic seminars will be held.

Among the key speakers of the Forum: Maria Barabash, President, A7 CAPITAL; Sergiy Savchuk, Chairman, State Agency of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Andriy Kobolyev, CEO, Naftogaz of Ukraine, Georgiy Geletukha, Chairman of the Board, Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board, Ukrainian Wind Energy Association; Max Lebedev, Managing Partner, GOLAW; Maksym Sysoiev, Senior Associate, Dentons Kyiv, Co-chair, EBA Fuel & Energy, Yuriy Vitrenko, Group Chief Operating Officer, Naftogaz Group, Yuri Podolyak, Commercial Director, IK NET; Anton Abramov, General Director, Photomate LLC; Victor Gladun, General Director, JV Poltava Petroleum Company, Yaroslav Petrov, Partner, Asters Law Firm, Valentyna Bilyk, Vice President, A7 CAPITAL, Roman Opimakh, Executive Director, Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine, Rodion Morozov, Head of Ecological Projects Department, Ukrgasbank, Jamil Malikov, Deputy Chairman, The State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Eugene Sushchenko, Investment Director, A7 CAPITAL, Andrian Prokip, Energy Expert, Ukrainian Institute for the Future, and others.

Hurtowe ceny energii elektrycznej przebiły dotychczasowe prognozy. Według dostępnych scenariuszy, w kolejnych latach trudno będzie uniknąć dalszych podwyżek. W krótkim okresie z odsieczą przyjdzie uruchomienie nowych bloków węglowych, potem pomóc mogą duże inwestycje w odnawialne źródła energii.

Polski rząd twierdzi, że zgodnie z dyrektywą Bruksela musi działać. Zagraniczni analitycy rynku uprawnień do emisji radzą Polsce, aby odrobiła lekcje z matematyki.
